Buying Shoes

Friday 17 February 2006

When I was a kid, and it was time to buy shoes, I went in the shoe store and people came to help me and measure my feet, and they smiled and were genuinely helpful.

These days, when you walk in a shoe store, there's loud rap music blasting and maybe 5 employees, none of whom usually offer to help because they're too busy rocking out or talking to each other.

And to top it all off, even a stripped-down pair of sneakers now costs $50 or more.
