Dumbing Up the Masses

Another tirade about semantics: this morning on the radio, I heard two different ads from two different stores advertising their seasonal special sales. Both used the phrase "...everything you need for back to school." I know that this is grammatical nitpicking, but it still pisses me off. You cannot substitute the phrase "back to school" for a noun, dammit. The stores put this in their ads because the targets of those ads (the general populace) are too ignorant to care. Folks, learn the right way to put a sentence together. Damn.
