I just couldn't resist having a communication with a date that won't recur for four years.
A word of explanation to all readers (and even proofers, since I haven't kept anyone in the loop) - the past four months have been the most hectic I can remember in a long while. Long story short, there have been medical problems in the family (which now seem to finally be under control, after much trial and error) and I have also been, basically, cleaning up and renovating a house on the nights and weekends.
The first thing was, of course, unplanned. The second thing was always planned for the winter months, when I had no softball and lots of free time. I'm happy with the work that was done, but now it's time to ease up on that and resume softball. And hopefully, writing.
I will say that I'm glad I didn't try to squeeze out an episode a week last fall and this winter - it would have been disastrous. Never, ever do something badly if you can instead take a break to do it right, at a better time.
