A nice trap! I'm interested to see how the gang get out of this mess.
Also it was good to see that the mines are actually filled with precious ores.

Yeah, the ores there (and in other places, such as those mines that Father Eye used to control) are a key resource. All that precious metal is one reason the Bright Alliance has been able to build first and recoup costs later - I'm thinking via a fair and low-level tax system on all businesses and/or residents, although maybe a tax on products is better e.g. "we gave you a house, we won't tax you, but whatever you produce, a small portion of it goes to us." That type of system seems like it would work out for all sorts of products...beef, milk, crops, armor, arrows, clothing. But I digress.
Tangential thought: Belphanior is the equivalent of a multimillionaire, if not a billionaire. Plus all of the others are surely multi-millionaires themselves. Technically they don't even need all this precious metal ore...but they have it anyway.
